Amphibian Foundation Education & Training for Young Adults
Herpetology, the study of amphibians and reptiles, is a course generally only offered in college. Since our founding in 2016, AF has developed amphibian and reptile focused educational programs for all ages, including the Master Herpetologist Program, which is modeled after a college-level course. For young adults, we have adapted the Master Herpetologist Program into an 8 week course, with a special 'Advanced' edition for those aged 15-17. Whether you are interested in herpetology, and learning about the biology and natural history of amphibians and reptiles, or potentially pursuing a career in herpetology, we offer many opportunities online and at our location in Atlanta.

The Junior Master Herpetologist Program is offered as a 16 week certification course, hosted at the Amphibian Foundation. It is based on our acclaimed Master Herpetologist Program (for adults) and adapted for a younger audience.
The Junior Master Herpetologist Program is perfect for children and young adults interested in amphibians and reptiles, as well as those interested in exploring the field of herpetology. $275
Advanced Junior Master Herpetologist Program - Live
Ages 15-17
The Advanced Junior Master Herpetologist Program is offered as a 16 week certification course, hosted at the Amphibian Foundation. It is based on our acclaimed Master Herpetologist Program (for adults) and adapted for a younger audience.

Counselor in Training (ages 15 - 18)
Counselor in Training
We train our CITs in education and animal handling to work hands-on with the animals and students. CITs assist the Lead Instructors with the lessons and activities, as well as help camp run smoothly. At the successful completion of the training, CITs receive a Certificate of Training and a Letter of Recommendation for future positions at the Foundation and beyond. CITs are also eligible to continue volunteering, if desired, after the summer concludes.
Ages 15 - 18 (2 week commitment minimum)
*The CIT position is currently the only opportunity to volunteer with the Amphibian Foundation for those under the age of 18.
